Robert "Bobby" Franklin Clarkson

Robert “Bobby” Franklin Clarkson, 90 of Fellowsville, WV, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024 at his residence with family by his side. He was born on October 7, 1933 in Thornton, son of the late Victor Gerald Sr and Mabel Marie (Bolyard) Clarkson. Robert, affectionately called Bobby or Farmer Bob, was born October 7,1933, in Thornton. He served in the United States Army in Korea in 1955. When he returned to the states, he moved to Ravenswood to work for Kaiser Aluminum. He and his first wife, Barbara (Kimble) Clarskson, lived in Evergreen Hills with their children, and he dedicated his life to God. Then the call of farm life pulled him back to Preston County, where he jumped back into raising cattle. Bobby joined Mt. Pleasant Church and loved teaching Sunday School there for many years and later at the Fellowsville Assembly of God from its beginnings, where he was a board member and also taught Sunday school. Bobby is survived by his three sons, Lyle Mark (Jackie), Robert (Tammy), and David (Christie); and grandchildren, Abby, Adam, Rachel, Rob, Leah, and Lyle; five great grandchildren; one brother, Bruce Clarkson (Loretta), two sisters, Pauline Ridenour and Elaine VanKerkove; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friend Norma Clarkson. In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by, one brother, Victor Clarkson Jr.; three sisters, Delphine Moore, Norma Campbell and Virginia Riffle. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown St. Newburg, WV, Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 12:00 Noon – 4:00 PM and Monday, July 22, 2024 from 10 AM until time of service at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Kevin Leadbeater officiating.
