Roger Lee Curry, 79 of Newburg, WV passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022 at home. He was born on July 26, 1943 in Grafton, son of the late Lawrence Russell Curry and Helen Josephine Reed. Roger graduated from Grafton High School, Class of 1961. He served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant. Roger was a member of the Aurora Lodge #43 AF & AM, Newburg, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and also the Vietnam Veterans of America #997. He retired as a machine operator at the PCA Box Factory with thirty-eight years of service. Roger was Methodist by faith. He is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Alberta M (Brown) Curry; three children, Francinette Helen Suzanne Knorr and husband, Thomas, Obetz, OH, Yannick Roger Curry and wife, Michell, Grafton, Monica Dixon and husband, Todd, Gladesville; four grandchildren, Hannah Dixon and partner, Clarksburg, Luke Dixon, Independence, Alexa Curry, Grafton, Jared Knorr, OH; two brothers, Fredrick “Butch” Curry and wife, Wave, Grafton, Charles Curry, Grafton; one sister, Anna Belle Sapp, Fairmont; three sisters-in-law, Wilma Larew, Newburg, Anita Goff and Lewis, Newburg, Rita Murray and Matthew, Yorks Run; one brother-in-law, William “Bill” Brown, Newburg, Michael “Mike” Swisher; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Roger is preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Curry and wife Leona; one brother-in-law, Ike Sapp; one sister-in-law, Donna Swisher; one brother-in-law, Jim Larew; one nephew, David Swisher. Family and friends will be received at the Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown St. Newburg, WV, on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 3:00 pm-8:00 pm and on Friday, November 4, 2022 11AM until time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Ray Frankhouser officiating. Interment will follow at Blackwood Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the Preston County Honor Guard and US Army Honor Guard.
