Stanley Mitchell Fortney

Stanley Mitchell Fortney, 68 of Newburg, WV, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at his residence. He was born on December 31, 1956 in Kingwood, son of the late Ivan D and Lucille H (Teter) Fortney. Stanley graduated from Newburg High School, Class of 1975. He had worked for Swanson Plating in Morgantown. Stanley loved spending time with his three grandkids. He enjoyed washing and waxing his Jeep and mowing grass. Stanley is survived by two sons,  D. Mitchell Fortney (Brittany), Newburg, Justin J Fortney (Pamela), Oakland, MD; three grandkids, Adam, Kynley and Briar; four brothers, Danny K Fortney  (Dorene), Anderson, SC, Denny L Fortney (Susan), Newburg, John D Fortney (Deborah), Rome, OH, Edgar E Fortney, Newburg; one sister, Belinda Trickett (Mike), Independence; one niece, Breana K Fortney; one aunt, Jean Teter, Elkins; several cousins. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave, Newburg, WV on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 from 3:00-7:00 pm and Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 9:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am.
