Watson Alan Gribble

Watson Alan Gribble, 46, of Kingwood, WV, passed away on June 3, 2026. Born on July 17, 1979, in Philippi, he was the son of the late Dorsey “Eugene” Gribble and Beverly "Bev" Ann Burgoyne Graham of Kingwood. 

Above all else, Watson was a devoted father whose greatest joy in life was his two daughters, Katelyn Fayeth Gribble and Kamryn Shae Gribble. He treasured every moment spent with his girls and was so proud of them. Whether sharing laughter, making memories, or simply being together, his daughters were the center of his world and the source of his greatest happiness.

A 1997 graduate of Preston High School, Watson was employed at Cumberland Mine for Iron Synergy. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially with his brother and nephews. He appreciated the outdoors and the simple pleasures of spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his daughters, Watson is survived by his brother, Eric Eugene Gribble and wife Monnie Jo, of Kingwood; three nephews, Alex Gribble, Gavin Gribble, and Haden Gribble; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dorsey “Eugene” Gribble; one sister, Mary Beth Gribble;  his maternal grandparents, Robert Emmett and Mildred Virginia (Cain) Burgoyne; and his paternal grandparents, Harvey Everett Gribble and Mary Elizabeth (Albright) Wolfe.

His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
