Woodrow "Woody" Pase Jr Obituary

Woodrow “Woody” Pase Jr., 77, of Tunnelton, WV, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on August 24, 1948, in Thomas, WV, Woody was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Pase I and Thelma Goldie (Helmick) Pase. He carried his father’s name with pride and built a life defined by hard work, humor, and devotion to those he loved.

For many years, Woody worked as a mechanic for Walker Motor Company. He wasn’t just a mechanic by trade — he was one at heart. There wasn’t an engine he wouldn’t tinker with or a lawnmower he wouldn’t try to fix. His hands were rarely still, and they told the story of a man who believed in honest work and doing things the right way. Whether he was working on cars, hauling junk, or helping someone in need, Woody found purpose in staying busy and lending a hand.

Outside of work, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, joking around with friends, and listening to classic country music — the kind that tells stories about life, love, and hard times. But above all else, Woody treasured time spent with his family. His greatest pride was his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved being “Pap,” and nothing brought him more happiness than seeing his family gathered together.

Woody is survived by his son, Woodrow Pase III (Patricia) of Tunnelton; daughters Sue Ann White (Victor) of Tunnelton and Angela Dawn Stone (Jessie) of Fellowsville; eight grandchildren: Wesley A. Smoot (Dana), Woodrow Pase IV, Eric Shrock, Jessie D. Stone, Cory J. Stone, Wyatt A. Stone, Molly M. Sphar (Grant), and Whitney G. Sphar; five great-grandchildren: Brison Shrock, Halle Haskiell, Kinley Pase, Rydan Bussard, and Bentley Bussard; and one great-great-granddaughter, Malani Cartwright.

He is also survived by his brother George Pase of Tunnelton; sister Kristie Plum of Tunnelton; brothers-in-law Roger Sisler of Borgman and Morrell Bolyard of Tunnelton; sisters-in-law, Linda Kelley of Tunnelton and Barbara McCloud of Albright, and Sue Pase of Kingwood; his beloved fur-babies, Pebbles and Maggie; and several nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss his laughter and easygoing spirit.

In addition to his parents, Woody was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose Mary (Sisler) Pase, and seven siblings: Sylvia Bolyard, Charles Pase, Giles Pase, Wilkie Pase, Goldie Pase, Sonny Pase, and Betty Spencer.

Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave., Newburg, on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 3:00–7:00 p.m. and on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m., with Rev.
